Made for Teachers
We are Made for Teachers
We are a passionate group of volunteers united by a common belief in the transformative power of education. Our diverse backgrounds—spanning various professions, life experiences, and cultures—enrich our perspectives and strengthen our commitment to the mission at hand. We are products of the Marion County School Board, which has profoundly shaped our lives and equipped us with the knowledge and skills to thrive in our communities.
Teachers are the key to everyone's success!
Give4Marion: A Day of Giving for Teachers: On September 17-18, 2024, the Community Foundation of Ocala will host Give4Marion, an inspiring 24-hour giving event powered by social media and community collaboration. This initiative invites anyone and everyone to engage in philanthropy, allowing individuals to contribute to local causes that matter most. Our organization is proudly participating in this year’s Give4Marion **We are Made for Teachers**, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting teachers through professional development, community partnerships, and the provision of essential supplies.
Our Mission
At Made for Teachers, we recognize the extraordinary impact that educators have on our communities. Our mission is rooted in the belief that supporting and uplifting teachers is critical to fostering a thriving educational environment. To that end, we actively engage in acts of gratitude designed to raise morale among teachers and cultivate a culture of appreciation and support. As this marks our inaugural participation in Give4Marion, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. We invite you to join us in our efforts to sustain and grow our organization, enabling us to provide mini-grants to teachers each month and continue our initiatives designed to celebrate their invaluable contributions.
Honoring a Legacy
The inspiration behind Made for Teachers comes from the legacy of my grandmother, Mary F. Tindal. A dedicated educator in Marion County for 34 years, she was renowned for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of her students. A Golden Apple teacher, her love for teaching was evident in every classroom she led. She once expressed, "I chose to teach because it was the best way to enjoy life." Her passion and dedication serve as our guiding light, motivating us to support educators in her honor. As her oldest daughter, I felt compelled to establish this organization not only to honor her memory but also to recognize every teacher whose passion and commitment leave a lasting imprint on their students and communities.
Our Programs
At Made for Teachers, we believe that every little bit counts. Each month, we host an appreciation drawing that engages up to 80 teachers who submit their information for a chance to win prizes, including gift cards and essential educational supplies. Additionally, we hold bi-annual “Chat ‘n Chew” appreciation luncheons, providing an opportunity for educators and the community to connect in a fun-filled environment. These upscale collaborations include entertainment, catered food, games, and de-stressing activities, culminating in tokens of appreciation for the teachers who work tirelessly for their students.
How You Can Help
Your support through Give4Marion will directly impact our ability to sustain and expand our initiatives for teachers. To have your donation contribute to the prize incentives awarded during the event, please make your contributions between midnight and 11:59 p.m. on September 17-18, 2024. While donations can be made before or after these dates, only those within the specified timeframe will count towards the incentives. Every dollar counts, and a donation as small as $10 can make a significant difference in supporting our teachers. We ask that you mark your calendars, follow our social media pages, and spread the word about this important day of giving. Together, we can show our educators how much they are valued and appreciated.
